My Rexes

All cat lovers should know about Cornish Rexes, although, dog lovers should consider them too. With their short curly fur and bat-like ears, you'll rarely find another cat as distinctive. When you add in their huge personalities you can see why they're so appealing.

Our first Rex was a rescue. Tony (Ptolomy Philidelphios of Tenderclaws cattery) sat in a cat rescue after his first owner passed away where nobody appreciated his unique charm. Luckily enough for him, the cat rescue where he languished was run by none other than my very own boyfriend's mother.
Even luckier for him is the fact that I'm easily swayed by two pairs of blue eyes staring at me with supplication to allow them to go home together.

Sadly, our little boy passed away from renal failure Summer 2011. The house was really, really quiet for a few months. It was strange to not have to check under blankets and pillows before sitting down, so we decided it was time to get another.

And they came as a set. Sunny (Rexkwizit Sunrise [rear]) and Ricky (Rexkwizit Ricky B [front]) took over our lives just after Halloween.
Their highnesses have not decided how they feel about having a staff of two, and have shown their distaste from the very beginning.

Sunny preferred to remove himself from the situation. Forgive the horrible photo- coming too close brought on a hissing, spitting fit. So we stayed away.
And as soon as he moved, we pushed the books back and ruined his hiding spot.
